Frequently asked
What happened to the AWS SysOps Administrator certification?
AWS renamed it. The SysOps Administrator Associate (SOA-C02) had its final exam sitting on 2025-09-29 and was replaced by the CloudOps Engineer Associate (SOA-C03) on 2025-09-30. Existing SysOps holders keep their badge and validity window. Note the exam no longer includes a hands-on lab: AWS removed exam labs in March 2023, and the current exam is multiple choice and multiple response only.
