Frequently asked
How much does the ISACA AAIR certification cost?
The exam costs $459 for ISACA members and $599 for non-members, plus a $50 application processing fee paid after passing. Its annual maintenance fee is $45 for members and $85 for non-members, higher than AAIA and AAISM, dropping to $25 and $50 once you hold 3 or more ISACA certifications.
What designations qualify for AAIR?
26 designations qualify, spanning ISACA credentials (CISA, CISM, CRISC, CGEIT, CDPSE), security and risk certifications (CISSP, CGRC, CIA, CRMA, PMI-RMP), and national CPA equivalents across the US, Canada, UK, Australia, Japan, Hong Kong, and Nigeria.
AAIR vs CRISC: which risk certification should I pursue?
CRISC validates enterprise IT risk management broadly and has no prerequisite credential. AAIR is a newer, advanced layer focused specifically on AI risk and requires you to already hold a qualifying designation, so most candidates take CRISC or an equivalent first.
