Frequently asked
Is the Microsoft MS-900 certification retired?
Yes. Microsoft retired the Microsoft 365 Fundamentals certification on March 31, 2026 and did not name a same-name successor on the credential page. Existing holders keep the credential because fundamentals certifications never expire.
What should I take instead of MS-900?
Microsoft has not designated a direct successor. For Microsoft-stack fundamentals, AZ-900 Azure Fundamentals and SC-900 Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals both remain active, and AB-900 covers the newer Copilot administration ground.
